  Denotations-  I can see a boy who seems sad, behind him there seems to be a hut. The writing says Dig toilets not Graves. The water aid logo suggests that he may be unhealthy. Connotations- The writing may suggest that this boy and his community may not have toilets to be able to flush or even have the facility of a toilet. The impact of 'not graves' conveys that people are dying because of the lack of water/facilities this boy receives. The use of the white colour of the text may be showing sympathy or peace towards this boy.
